Going into "services.msc" I made sure that all the obvious services are started and running: DCHP Client, Homegroup Listener, Homegroup Provider, Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper, NetTcp Port SHaring Service, Network Connections, Both computers are on a 5Ghz wifi N network. Ok, I am running Vista Ultimate x86 on two PC's. Check This Out This totally works for me. After the original computer names no longer displayed from my daily driver I changed the names back to their original names (restarted as instructed). When you have only 1 left, restart computer and enjoy being able to see your other network computers, including HOMEGROUP files.=================There were around 200 entries and it took around 45 minutes How To Fix Error Code 0x80070035
No special Firewalls, just have Windows Firewall enabled on all PC's, and am running KasperskyInternetSecurity2010 on all. (Have disabled these on all PC's and tried to view/connect and it didnt make Multiple time deleted homegroup and created new one.Earlier, also I tried different settings, but nothing succeededIn PC-1 , it shows PC-2 under network, but it Can't connect. I had previously gone to Download.com looking for free Synch software that looked good But I didn't find DropBox. Again, Wifi PC-A that holds particular folders on a secondary drive that I want to share has two password protected accounts. It is plugged into the ethernet outlet on the modem provided by my ISP. I reset them to trusted in Kaspersky and this issue was fixed. Can't see other computers on network Two Vista computers, one can see both on the network, the other can't home network, computers cant see each other solved Windows 7 PC can't I have tried to search for a fix in forums, some said reconfigure the firewall, some said change a service setting.
P.S. - After I unplug the UTP cable of my modem from my switch, it takes several minutes until my laptop can access the contents of my netbook's shared folder.
