I can only assume that you already did this but a computer that is infected with viruses and/or spyware can exhibit this type of behavior. Memory is at 2 GB usage more or less all the time (out of 8), and sometimes I get picks where it uses... Uncheck it to make sure it doesn't start up with your computer again. Virus and Spyware ?
