Now I am regretting that purchase. If it still fails then at least you can assume it's not a bad video card. Then they said to AGAIN, update drivers and do this and that with the hardware and if it doesn't work do it again.. Also you SHOULDN'T have installed Steam in program files in conflict with the UAC which is recommended to leave on for most people!

But I've also seen issues with people having the game hang before loading a save game in 7 and Vista. I played through on normal and did find it to be a bit easy, but I was so involved in the story that I didn't worry about the ease. That's probably due to that retarded admin shit in Vista, and perhaps 7 as well. Reinstalled a couple times and boom, it worked like a charm.
And for the guy that said to ask Steam for a refund.. The same god damn thing too, blaming my video drivers. I haven't had a single crash in Win7, but I did when I had XP.
