Bluescreens at the same place as before, only difference is that it all took longer to load. bummer....moreover, the WD Passport has very low throughput, it takes more than two hours to copy all that stuff on it..... any solution to this? I removed the one stick of standard and reseated (reversed) the other two and got good results.

However I'm getting the same problem when that hdd is put back in my new machine and I attempt to boot from it. It didn't seem to help though. I am trying to install fresh Windows 7 instead. 0x000007e I didn't find any options for UEFI/EFI in my bios or I just really missed it, but I'm positive I didn't see any options relevant to that in my bios.
You can retrieve the key using a live linux disk and then go here to download Windows 8 on another comptuer using the option to download to media. I don't get it. And yes I don't have a recovery disk. @JohnC_21 I looked at the link and it was useful, however, I don't have a window 8 key =/ or not that 0x0000007e I'll have to send it back to the ASUS manafacturing place so they can reformat my HD and install windows 8 back on it again since I deleted all my partitions Unfortunately, removing all USB devices and starting over did NOT solve the problem for me. Unfortunately, I was stupid not to create a system recovery partition before I started the windows 7 OS installation.

The downgrade wasn't from windows it self but from my own windows cd. well, if the first bios for this mobo is from 2009, it's strange that it says 2005 when i start it.
